Why Burly Elephant?

My husband once told me I have the heart of an elephant—strong, steady, and always looking out for others… whatever that means. But one thing I do know is that, like an elephant protecting its herd, I’ve always felt a deep responsibility to keep my family safe, comfortable, and ready for whatever adventures life brings our way.

Starting a New Chapter in Richmond Hill, GA

Moving from Ohio to Georgia, was a refreshing change—warm weather, welcoming neighbors, and a community that truly feels like home. But along with the beauty of the Lowcountry came its tiny, persistent nuisances—gnats, mosquitoes, and the need for safer solutions.

From frustration to resolution

Watching the kids scratch nonstop and my husband come home from golf and fishing trips with bleeding skin was frustrating. We needed a better way—so we set out to create one. With over 20 years of experience in home and personal care formulations, we developed a solution to keep our family comfortable outdoors, leading to the creation of our first Natural Insect Repellent.

But creating something truly effective and safe took time. It took an additional three years to perfect the formulation, ensuring it met the highest safety standards while following environmental guidelines

What started as a simple dinner table conversation—when the kids said, “Let’s sell this like a summer lemonade stand!”—quickly grew into something more. We saw an opportunity not just to share our solution but to encourage adventure and help families enjoy the outdoors with comfort.
